Abstract: The ability to monitor the initial strength of concrete is important, both in the laboratory and in the field. Reliable and accurate measurements can indicate the right moment for removing the formwork, loading the structural elements, as well as determining the quality of the particular batch. This monitoring can be adequately done by the technique of electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). In this work, a protocol for sample preparation for electrical impedance measurements was developed to monitor the curing process of concrete and mortar.
