The newer Apple iMacs feature a CD/DVD slot conveniently located on the side, directly above the SD card slot. I'm willing to wager that I am not alone in inserting an SD card into the CD slot by mistake. Luck might be on your side if you can successfully retrieve it with a bit of wire, but more often than not, you'll need to disassemble the entire unit. I've been there myself - just last week, actually. To avoid this frustrating experience, I decided to create a protective cover for my iMac's SD card slot.
