iMac 27" (2014) RAM Door Inputs Cover

I recently converted a 5K iMac (2014) to a monitor. I wanted to use as little glue as possible and wanted the display to remain repairable and modular. To easily feed through input cables, I attached Male-to-Female extension cables for all the ports leading to the LCD Driver board, and wanted to feed them out the back without tugging on the board. This allows me to swap out the cables or add additional cables later on.

The file comes in two pieces. First, mount the door with the original screws and screwholes, feed the cables through, and then attach the second piece (the small insert) around the cables and hot glue it in place. This will prevent the female ends from going back into the machine. I added cable ties to each side to prevent the cables from going back and forth.

Printed with supports for the screw holes.

Part of the iMac 5K Screen Conversion Collection
