illuminated Commodore logo
thingiverse
This is the logo of Commodore, which shines brightly with two 5mm LEDs illuminating its surface. The design consists of two parts that work in harmony together. The face plate is crafted according to the official specifications of the Commodore logo, a true representation of the brand's iconic image. The illuminated body, printed from transparent PLA with 100% infill, provides a solid foundation for the logo's glow. It is slightly smaller than expected and fits neatly through the cut outs of the face plate. Two LEDs and current limiting resistors work together to create an effective illumination system. The reflector can be printed with a layer height of 0.4mm using white PLA, significantly enhancing the brightness of the logo. Its primary function is also as a stand-off for a printed circuit board (with the LEDs and resistors), holding it securely in place. Additionally, aluminum foil placed between the transparent part and the reflector improves performance. A PCB can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/svenpetersen1965/Illuminated-Commmodore-logo. The Fusion 360 file is also included for modification to suit individual needs or dimensions.
