The first easy-to-print, modular and customizable lamp available on Thingiverse! Shaped after the twenty-faced Platonic solid, the icosahedron, this lamp is made of 20 identical tiles, each representing one face, which are connected and fast to print. When lit, this amazing lamp will cast a fantastic geometric shadow pattern throughout your room, creating an immersive atmosphere that's truly dreamlike. The lamp consists of: - 20 triangular tiles - 1 base - 1 small 12V halogen or LED lamp - 1 standard halogen lamp mount - 2 m3 screws - 1 220V to 12V power transformer - Some toothpicks You can find the necessary electrical components at any hardware store. !!!NEW!!! Once printed, you'll need to assemble them using short pieces cut from toothpicks, which are easily found and inexpensive. The assembled icosahedron will fit perfectly onto the base. I also included .3df and .step models of a non-carved tile, allowing designers to create their own tiles. As long as they don't modify the joints or overall shape of the tile, it will be fully compatible with any other printed tile. I ask only that you credit me whenever you create your own tile and upload it. I hope we can work together to build a wonderful collection of tiles!
