IKEA Vidja top cover REMIX (w/ geometry modifier)

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>I really wanted to add some covers to the top of our IKEA Vidja lamp because bugs can be a real pain, expecially in summer, expecially with two cats around.<br>So I found the great top <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/5650-ikea-vidja-top-cover-keeps-the-bugs-away">cover design</a> by <a href="https://www.printables.com/social/28639-jaapp">Jaapp</a>, which fits perfectly and looks great with transparent filament.</p><p>For added peace of mind I decided to add some ventilation holes (I know, LED lights doesn't generate so much heat, but still) without sacrificing functionality: bugs (and cats) must stay away.</p><p>It was also a great opportunity to try geometry modifiers in CURA (should also work in Prusa Slicer).<br>The idea is to work inside your slicer and set different parameters in the central area of the cover in order to use only infill and automatically generate a fine mesh.</p><p>I ended up with a 70% triangle infill, which in my opinion looks great and it's fine enough to keep bugs away while still allowing some aeration.</p><figure class="image"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/299834/rich_content/b4168380-0229-4469-829b-c31e6e313308/steair_ikea_vidja_top-cover_remix_geometry-modifier.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%2275703c38-ee26-4ac1-8e0a-d46a636aae79%22%2C%22w%22%3A1695%2C%22h%22%3A1038%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I printed the covers at 0.2 LH using PET transparent filament.</p>
