<p>We've recently invested in some dimmer buttons from the IKEA Trådfri series, and wanted the buttons to be mounted where the real lamp switches were located.</p> <p>My requrements were that the mounting should be unintrusive, and try to use the fastening method that the original rocker switches use. So I just copied the rocker switch from an assembled switch. After a couple of versions (4, to be exact) I got a version that snaps into place with a satisfying click!</p> <p>As an added bonus, the dimmer is still detachable for easy access to the battery, as well as moving the dimmer button around.</p> <p>The two square nubs on on the top and bottom of the buttons are spacers to prevent the plate from rocking. They can be a smidge taller than they are, since there's a small rocking motion still. You barely notice it, but if it annoys you, the FreeCAD-file is included.</p> <p>I did not make the model completely parametric, but the ambition was there from the outset. I just failed to follow through :)</p> <p>Don't forget to document makes of this thing! I would assume that any PLA would do.</p> I printed the adapter with the pocket for the button facing down, and the overhang prints good enough. <p>If your printer isn't able to print those overhangs reliably, use supports.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p>I used the double adhesive pad that is included in the package with the dimmer.
