Ikea Trofast Shelf (small) Paint Holder Drawer
thingiverse
First I want to let you all know that this is my first ever designed 3D project. I know it is not perfect but it works great. I hope that some of you can take this and improve it, I am excited to see what you can do with this. As I got in to 3D printing a few months ago my wife decided to get in to miniature painting. We happened to have an extra Ikea Trofast (small) shelf lying around so I decided to design a paint holder drawer for her. It utilizes OpenLOCK clips to hold the two halves together and then the handle in the front with the pegs makes sure that it doesn't come apart. I know that on the STL file for the LEFT and RIGHT drawers they look fine but when I sliced them in PrusaSlicer there are little holes in the bottom of the front row of the bottle holders. I attempted to do a minor fix but had no luck and so just printed as is and it works great and the holes are not noticeable once the drawer is in place. At some point in the design process when I was cutting and merging the openlock parts to the drawers it messed with the mesh and caused the sunburst coming from the back corners, I tried to fix it but my limited skills had no such luck. When printed it actually looks kind of cool and isn't super noticeable. Everything can be printed with no supports except for the handle because of the pegs and possibly the angle of the bottom of the handle. The screw track works perfectly with no supports. You can see in the photos that the clearance on either side in the tracks of the drawer is just enough and I tried it in every drawer track on the unit and it works great. You can also double up and use 2 drawers on top of each other if desired. Specs: - Holds 48 bottles of paint - Tracks for screws to secure it to the shelf unit if you want to make sure that you don't accidentally pull it out too far - 5 OpenLOCK clips to secure the 2 halves together - Handle has pegs to secure it to the drawers (no glue needed, but can be used) Filament Used: - Handle ~ 55g - Left side ~ 413g - Right side ~ 415g Ikea Trofast shelf: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/trofast-wall-storage-light-white-stained-pine-white-s49102304/ FILES: You only need the 2 drawer files (LEFT and RIGHT), and either the handle file (WHOLE) or (LEFT & RIGHT) if your print bed is smaller than the MK3S+ 210mm x 250mm, it barely fit corner to corner. OpenLOCK clip file. The Screw Track Angled file I added for reference if anyone is trying to make modifications. OpenLOCK attribution: https://www.printablescenery.com
