IKEA trash can hack
thingiverse
When we 3D print, a lot of waste plastic is generated quickly. From either support material prototyping or failed prints that don't turn out right. So it's nice to have a dedicated trash can close by. And it cannot get any more convenient than this. Hardware: ---------------------- 4 x M3 5.5mm machine screws are needed. 4 x M3 Brass Nuts Thread Inserts, https://bit.ly/2IOYRqo, are also necessary. 6 x Wood screws will be used as well. 1 x IKEA FNISS Trash can, https://bit.ly/2sdijXy, is the trash can itself. How to mount: ------------- First, hold up the trash can to where you want it and draw around it with a pencil. Next, draw lines from the widest part of the circle out to the edge of the table that's holding everything together. Then, hold up a rail to these lines and drill small pilot holes in them for extra support. After that, measure the circle and find the center by drawing a line right there. Finally, mount the parts with wood screws. See it in action: ---------------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_1sB7SRA2U I didn't create the handle myself, I just made room for the brass inserts. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:980123/#files
