Ikea Table Filament Through Tube

Ikea Table Filament Through Tube

When designing my printer enclosure, I realized I needed extra space for filament spools. To address this issue, I created the Spool Holder End Stops for 1/2 PVC pipe so I could attach the spools to the upper section of the enclosure. My enclosure is built from multiple Ikea 20" square tables stacked and bolted together. When drilling holes in them, I encountered edges that couldn't be rounded due to the materials used. As a result, I created this device that can slide through and secure, creating a smooth entrance between layers. I use it to allow the spool to feed the printer from above without letting a large amount of warm air escape into the upper chamber. I believe such a simple solution could be applied in other situations as well, like routing wire bundles within a DIY enclosure or even on a desk with similar dimensions. I found that this print works best in PLA+ due to its need for maintaining precise dimensions as snugly as possible. However, I suspect it could be improved with more expensive materials, but I'm not willing to invest in them for such a simple part.
