IKEA Stuva enclosure porthole pass-through (with swivel filament guide)
thingiverse
I made a swivel filament pass through for my Ikea Stuva printer enclosure. Currently using it with a direct drive Greg's Wade extruder, paired with a J-Head Mk V-BV hotend. To use more abrasive filaments and plated nozzles, I will be testing a Bowden extruder with an E3D V6 soon. The porthole's center hole should be drilled to 38mm (1.5 inches) in diameter. Four smaller holes are 6.4mm (0.25 inches) in diameter each. My cabinet is 30mm (1.2 inches) thick. UPDATE Design works great with the new Bowden E3D combination. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% minimum Notes: Designed to print without support. Post-Printing The swivel hole is designed for a 4mm OD PTFE tube, smoothly guiding 1.75 filament. I recommend using a drill with a 4 mm bit to clean the hole. Screws can be between 10-25mm long, M3 or similar sized screws. Exact clearances exist between porthole ID and swivel insert OD. Fitting these pieces together might require minor sanding. A lip inside the porthole contacts the inner cylinder with the swivel. I designed this in Tinkercad.
