IKEA Stuva Enclosure - Cable Cutout

IKEA Stuva Enclosure - Cable Cutout

prusaprinters

The Stuva cabinet from IKEA is the ideal starting point for building an enclosure for your 3D printer. Unfortunately the box is too small to fit most common printers (I have an Ender 3 Pro). To mitigate some of the space issues I designed this cutout for the back wall to allow the cable(chains) to move freely. This is part of my project to build an enclosure for my Ender 3 Pro out of an IKEA Stuva cabinet. Click here to view my collection. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: Ender 3 Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.20 mm Layer Height Infill: 100% (no infill needed, only printing thin(ish) walls) Filament: Tianse PLA Red Notes: I had a 0.5 mm nozzle installed while building my enclosure, so I designed this to work best with that type of nozzle (1 mm wall thickness -> 2 lines per wall). Keep that in mind, if your slicer tries adding a third wall to make up for the difference in nozzle size. Post-Printing Installation After marking the location where I wanted it, I used a jigsaw to cut out part of the back wall. Using the printed part as a jig I marked the locations for the screw holes and drilled them out. I used M3 screws, some washers and bolts to mount it to the back wall. If you are concerned about any dust entering your enclosure you could add a beat of silicone to completely seal the part. Category: 3D Printer Accessories
