Mounting an Ikea Solvinden paper lantern to the ceiling is straightforward, turning it into a regular lighting fixture. To do so, simply attach it between a light bulb receptacle and the ceiling, then screw the receptacle back into place. The Solvinden lantern will now be securely fastened in its new location, replacing the bare bulb with a stylish addition. Meanwhile, the solar LED light that comes with the Solvinden lantern is redundant for this setup. It can therefore be trimmed to size and placed in an Ikea Droppar jar for use as waterproof outdoor lighting.
