IKEA Sannahed insert for LEGO Speed Champions racing/formula cars (3D + 2D printed)
prusaprinters
Do you like interesting car models, especially F1, from the LEGO Speed Champions series? Give them a representative space in the frames on the wall. The available IKEA Sannahed 25 × 25 cm frames are ideal. First, print a test piece on your 3D printer to see if it will snap fit nicely with your LEGO bricks. If not, adjust the Flow parameter for your material (just a little bit). Don't resize the entire model! Then print a simple insert in the mount frame. The layer height is 0.2 mm. (If you only have a small printer, use a smaller insert version.)If you want to spice up the frame by adding car descriptions, use my PDF templates (you can further customize them in a graphic editor like Affinity Designer). You just need to cut two holes and crop the bottom of A4. Use photo paper for sharp details.Put all the layers in an IKEA frame and hang or place wherever you like. Don't forget to add the LEGO mini figures of racers and technicians to the bottom edge of the frame to add some life.Enjoy!EDIT: 2024-09-02 … Yes, we are creatively working with LEGO sets. So if you have a car with new flat floor in the middle, just put 2×2 or 2×4 etc. plate between your chasis (wheels area) and the print. :) Or two. Click! And if you do not want to play with print profile, use some easy to add/remove material for hanging photos etc. Just to make sure the model hangs where it's supposed to. Mine has held for many months without a single problem like in the photo.2024-05-07 … Two new templates in PDF format added (Ferrari and different McLaren combination).
