The IKEA Samla insert is a remarkably practical and economical tray insert that suffers from a major design oversight. When you load it with more than a couple of pounds of stuff, it will collapse and sink into the box it's inserted in, which is not ideal for a product that essentially invites use as a toolbox. I crafted a wedge that redistributes the weight and prevents the tray insert from buckling under pressure. It can be printed using very low infill settings due to its structurally sound design. I opted for 15% infill, but 10% would have been more than sufficient. To secure it in place, I used double-sided tape; alternatively, a single screw from the inside of the insert wall would also have worked effectively.
