IKEA Rigga Additional Rail Holder

This design was crafted to enable the installation of a second horizontal bar to the IKEA Rigga Clothing Rack. The existing dimensions of this item mean that the supports do not tightly grip the vertical frame, so you will need to line the inside of the gripping surface with masking tape. Based on your printer's precision, I discovered that 5-6 strips of masking tape applied to the gripping surfaces of the supports produced a secure fit and exceptional friction when attached to the Rigga frame. Using two M6 x 30 bolts (I only had M6 wingnuts and 45mm bolts as shown in the picture), position one set of supports onto the Rigga frame at your desired height and fasten. This design is engineered for a 16mm outer diameter metal curtain rod cut to 890 mm to be securely held between two sets of supports. Cut the curtain rod to size, deburr it, then insert the cut rod into the support on one side, align it with the matching support on the other side, and secure using the wingnuts. I have not conducted a load test, but it feels very sturdy at 20% infill. Double your hanging space instantly!
