Ikea pax mk3s mmu2 solution
prusaprinters

Lack enclosure is no longer fits to me. There are lot of issue with maintaining printer. I am using Ikea pax wardrobe (width 50cm). It perfectly fit for prusa mk3s. But i have also mmu2 as upgrade and I tried to managed it with stands.

I don't like prusa's solution of filament buffer, is hard to change filament and it is not elegant solution. So I decided to use Vincent's solution of autorewind spool hub. Thats work perfect. When I have setting up printer I have idea to put spool holder from Ikea lack to shelf over the printer. But it didn't look like elegant solution. So I try to design wall mounted spool hub solution.

It fits for pax hole spacing. There are 3 pieces for body of holder. Spools are designed as hubs with thread. They can screw into 3 thread holes. There are pieces for left and right side. One position is empty (mmu2 support only 5 filament).

There is longer version of spool hub for right side (some filament spools are thicker, and you have to use longer version of hub).

Axis i printed with full infill (i used maximum perimeters to align all fibers with same direction. A slight bend appeared in axis (especially in longer version) but it works well.

Part of this model is also a holder for PTFE tubes. It is aligned in center of spools. I used m6 fitting.

I used about 0.5 meters of ptfe tubes to free move of 3d printer. It is based on a shallow drawer. It allows me easy acces to all printer parts.

In future I will desing holder for power supply (and detachable cable for it) and rpi box under drawer.
