I recently upgraded my IKEA NYMANE with a custom PETG print because the original metal build caused constant issues with Zigbee lamps like Tradfri communicating with my controller. The 400lm output can indeed get quite hot, making PETG an ideal choice for replacing the front panel. Since then, I've experienced no more problems. The model's design is notable for its lack of threading, a deliberate choice to avoid the difficulty of printing fine threads. Instead, the metal creates its own internal thread, eliminating the need for external threading. One benefit of this new design is that it's significantly shorter, making the lamp more visible in my space.
