IKEA MÅLA DRAWING PAPER ROLL DOWEL BRACKETS
thingiverse
I recently setup desks for my daughters and wanted to add IKEA MÅLA Drawing Paper Rolls (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/mala-drawing-paper-roll-70461088/) for each desk to give them an easy place to write and create art. IKEA was sold out on the mounting brackets when I went to buy the paper rolls so I designed these brackets to use with a 28mm wooden dowel (the interior diameter of hole in the center of the paper roll). I have included two versions, one for mounting on the wall or under a desk, and a second for mounting the roll vertically or between two posts. Both versions are laid out on the print bed already to print in the strongest layout and are designed to print without supports. The screw holes are 3mm shank diameter with a 6mm countersunk head (I used 1" wood deck screws to mount mine). You can also mount using heavy-duty velcro or double-sided VHB tape but I have not tested how well either of those options would hold up to the paper roll being pulled on. If you print these out, please share I would love to see how they turn out and any improvements you make to my designs.
