IKEA Martin Chair Clip
prusaprinters
This part replaces the IKEA Martin Chair clip that connects the frame to the seat (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/martin-chair-frame-black-40354221/). The original injection molded parts began to crack and fail on 6 chairs. For a strong part, I recommend printing in ABS or PETG with 6 perimeters, 90% infill. Prints without supports. There is a small fin support that can be trimmed away after printing. Orients correctly on the bed by default. Flat surfaces on the through-hole cuts should be at the top of the holes to prevent sagging of overhanging layers. From reviewing the failed parts I think they are likely failing due to high line contact stress that happens to align with the knit line of the molding, directly opposite the gate on the part. This 3D printed part resolves the issue.Modeled with Autodesk Fusion 360.
