IKEA MARKUS chair strut spacer
thingiverse
The gas lift strut on my IKEA MARKUS office chair was getting worn out, so I decided to create some spacers to secure it back in place and avoid the hassle of buying a new one or dealing with warranty issues. These parts are also likely to work with other IKEA office chairs as they probably reuse the same strut elsewhere; if it's got a 28mm strut inner, it should fit just fine. The main "chair support" model snaps onto the strut and locks the height at nearly full capacity. I found this a bit excessive, so I created a shorter version that locks it at half-height again. With both options, you can still spin around on the chair as much as you want. Lastly, the bushing is designed to be printed in flexible filament (I used PolyFlex with 20% infill) and provides a slight cushion effect. Perhaps this will make a difference; totally optional, though.
