IKEA Marcus office chair lift 40 mm
thingiverse
Like many PC enthusiasts, I adore the IKEA Markus chair. It boasts an impressive tall back, premium mechanics, and is extremely ergonomic at its price point. However, as a tall guy, it could be elevated slightly higher for my liking. So I studied the design closely and pondered where it could be raised up a bit. I dismissed the mounting points for the rollers and central lift due to strength concerns, leaving only mounting the seat cushion and backrest higher. This is an uncomplicated mod. You will need to print 4 pieces of round washer, and a single piece of triple washer for the backrest. Additionally, you'll require 7 M8 hex bolts, length 70 mm (in reality, you'd need 5 in 60 mm and 2 in 80 mm, but I used a single length and it works effectively), to replace the old bolts that are now too short. I highly recommend using Loctite 243 thread locker, as it's also on the original bolts, to keep the bolts tight. I've been sitting on mine for a week, and I am extremely satisfied. Please pay close attention to the printing instructions below.
