IKEA MALM BED - Drawer LOCK (for CATs)
thingiverse
I have that MALM bed from IKEA, which features four drawers underneath. Unfortunately, there is no way to secure the drawers in place, allowing my mischievous cats to constantly open them and sneak into the storage space to snooze on top of my clothes. The result is a lovely mess, with FUR everywhere, and sometimes they even get stuck inside. To address this issue, I created a temporary solution involving a lock that can be easily attached to the bed using double-sided tape - specifically, the thicker variety that resembles transparent rubber. By placing the tape on the bed and pressing the lock into position, it effectively secures the drawers in place. This makeshift solution has worked perfectly for me so far. I do plan to upgrade its design in the near future to make it easier to use without having to remove any parts of the lock. Feel free to modify this design to suit your needs - the OBJ file is available for download. To print mine, I used PLA with a layer height of 0.3mm and no supports. When printing, place both parts on their sides to ensure a stronger bond between them and avoid the need for supports altogether.
