Shelf stand for IKEA Ekby LAIVA shelf. I scored an incredible deal on the stand from Ikea for just $3.50! The assembly process involves three main components: the left and right pieces and the top and bottom plate. The top plate slots neatly into place, while both the top and bottom plate feature a clever interlocking mechanism. To ensure smooth clearance, I allowed a 0.25mm gap around all edges, totaling 0.5mm if the interlocking feature shifts to one side. Printing accuracy varies depending on your printer's capabilities; some areas may require a slip fit, while others demand a light interference fit. I assembled the pieces with super glue and secured the shelf with double-sided tape on the sides for extra stability. Printing settings included slicing with MatterControl using standard PLA settings, along with 30% infill for all parts. I utilized Hatcbox Black PLA and 3D Solutech Ultra Blue PLA filaments for the project. If you opt to use the Ultra PLA, consider using a 1.8mm layer height on top surfaces for an exceptionally smooth finish; any lower layers may result in bubbling or roughness.
