Ikea LedBerg clip for Vertex K8400
thingiverse
As it turned out, Ikea discontinued the Dioder series, so I still needed to find an alternative for my 2nd Vertex K8400. I decided to go with the "Ledberg" LED-strips as a replacement. These required slightly larger clips than the Dioder series did, prompting me to remix H60's design to accommodate them. The new 2017 series comes with only 6 LEDs per strip, which are actually brighter than the Dioder LEDs, as you can see from the picture. There are a couple of drawbacks to the Ledberg series: - You get only three strips in each package, but fortunately, the adapter allows for connecting four strips. The adapter supplies 3 watts and the light strips use 6 x 0.06 watts = 0.36 Watts, so four strips use only 1.44 Watts, well within the limit. I observed no temperature change when running four strips through the adapter. - These LED-strips do not come with short wires for connecting around corners. Instead, I chose to solder wires directly to the strips, which requires a bit more work but works fine! Using a wire that's 5 cm or 2 inches long does the trick nicely.
