IKEA Tertial Lamp RØDE NT USB Mini Microphone Mount Adapter

Have you ever wanted to attach your microphone to an IKEA lamp? Maybe not, but now you can!

This is an adapter made for the IKEA Tertial desk lamp which attaches to the RØDE NT USB Mini via a 3D-printed thread. The adapter is mounted to the lamp via a screw already in the lamp. The print should not take more than maybe 30 minutes?

The problem I have experienced with this design is the lamp's springs not being strong enough to support the microphone. I solved this by zip-tying the forward segment of the lamp to prevent it from sagging (see image below).

To enable the lamp for microphone arm usage, remove the lamp shade, light source, and the power cable going through the lamp arm. I had to cut it in two to remove it since it was impossible to pull through otherwise. I recommend watching a video on YouTube for instructions on how to remove the power cord and similar modifications. UNPLUG THE LAMP BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY MODIFICATIONS!

I recommend printing this slowly with a nozzle no larger than 0.4 mm to ensure accurate and precise threads. Infill should be relatively high, 50% is a good compromise. For further strength, set the perimeter amount to at least 3 perimeters in your slicer of choice. I used PLA at 210 degrees. printed by a CR-10.
