My ongoing Lack enclosure project has now shifted focus to the E12 printer, where I aim to utilize cut-down legs rather than printing four 200mm extension pieces due to the height constraint. In search of a suitable design for joining the legs, I wanted one that could be fitted snugly under an intact Lack leg while ensuring a stable fit for a hollow-ended cut-down leg, which lacks the glued-in plug found in standard full-length ones. The chosen design enables fixing the joiner to the bottom of the full-length leg using four No.8 x 1" wood screws (equivalent to 4mm x 25mm). This provides a solid fix, allowing for the open-ended leg (my cut-down one) to be slotted over the joiner and secured with four M4 x 15mm countersunk screws. To ensure accurate drilling of the leg and maintain close tolerance, a drilling jig is provided.
