Ikea LACK Laptop Hangar

Ikea LACK Laptop Hangar

This has been a fantastic place to stash my spare laptop and keyboard. The original intention was to design a mouse holder but I can simply set it on the laptop or keyboard. This is a lengthy print. Each bracket took an astonishing eighteen hours. I've tried different infills and they all work fine but the twenty percent infill with five top and bottom layers is the bare minimum I would use. Two of my other LACK accessories are also available on Thingiverse: Clip lights, headphone hangar More LACK accessories will be coming online in the near future. Take a look through my designs or search for "ikea lack". Update: I've added a second version of the file (v0.03) that is substantially heavier. This version is one and a half centimeters thick and will more easily take a heavy laptop without adding a bunch of top/bottom layers and infill. For small and light laptops, I suggest sticking with version 0.02. Update2: Apparently, my HP EliteBook is a very lightweight laptop. I've uploaded v0.04 which is large and wide. Printed with twenty-five percent infill, it is extremely strong but takes twenty-five hours to print one bracket on my CR-10S Pro. For my Lenovo T560, v0.02 is sufficient and v0.03 is great. This project was designed in a recent daily build of FreeCAD being run on Linux. The FreeCAD project is rapidly evolving into a powerful, stable, extensible, multi-platform, CAD tool that is freely available to anyone with an interest. Almost all of the reviews currently available of FreeCAD are outdated and focus on problems that are long solved. To see a deep dive comparison of FreeCAD vs SolidWorks, check out "Joko Engineeringhelp" YouTube channel. He has fantastic comparisons of FreeCAD / SolidWorks / OnShape. He also does some deep dives into FreeCAD and SolidWorks comparing their finite element analysis features and more. His videos are dense with information and detail. All of the resources needed to learn FreeCAD to an excellent level is available on YouTube and other sites. If you are interested in a powerful, open, cross-platform, CAD application, FreeCAD is the only choice. What's more, it's a viable choice. For current information on FreeCAD, visit the web site and consider participating in the forum.
