IKEA LACK for Prusa MK3 with MMU2 and 5 spool Dehydrator Idea! Since I've been waiting since December 2018 for my MMU2 upgrade, I decided to use spare time wisely to create something better. The whole design centers on using the bottom blower assembly of a readily available food dehydrator and an IKEA LACK enclosure. By doing this, I'll create a filament dryer that not only keeps filament dry at all times but also has room for 5 full-size spools (See Figure 1) within the LACK enclosure itself (See Figure 2). I plan to produce 5 Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holders designed by Vincent Groenhuis (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467) and place them underneath the printer in the middle cabinet. The cabinet has three compartments assembled and cut to size from three IKEA LACK Tables. The top compartment is used for the printer, with Acrylic windows around it. The spools are placed in the middle compartment, which is accessible from the rear and has a drawer surrounded by Acrylic windows. The window connected to the drawer will have connectors to hold PTFE tubes running to the MMU2. The drawer slides out easily (See Figure 6 and 7) using commercially available runners (See Figure 5), making it easy to replace spools without issues. Hot air is blown from the dehydrator blower into the middle cabinet via an expandable hose, similar to those used in air conditioner units. This arrangement allows the blower to be placed anywhere inside or outside the lower part of the enclosure (See Figure 8).
