IKEA Lack Enclosure Risers x 100mm
thingiverse
I really liked the design that McCarter14777 came up with, but I needed the riser to be a bit taller. This raised the IKEA Lack legs 101.5mm off the surface they're on, giving my Monoprice Maker Select (Wanhao i3 v2.1 clone) enough room even with my raised z Axis mod in place. I printed this with eSUN ABS+, using a speed of 0.3mm at 80mm/sec. I probably should have slowed it down a bit, though. To keep the part from delaminating, I used a temporary cardboard box as an enclosure. If you're like me, you're printing this part to build yourself a legit enclosure, so that wouldn't be a problem with PLA or PETG. What really sets my build apart is the magnetic panels. I glued high-strength magnets to the red brackets in all four corners and then glued washers onto the plexi. This lets me easily snap the plexi into place and remove it whenever I want, making access really easy. The front panel has two handles screwed into the plexi, so you just pull the plexi out and set it on the ground to remove it. Using hinges would have been a bit more complicated, but this works perfectly as is. I've been using my printer for over a year now with no complaints at all.
