IKEA Lack Dust Cover/Enclosure (simplified)
thingiverse
Yes, this is yet another IKEA LACK enclosure :)\r\nI rarely print ABS/ASA so the main purpose of the enclosure is dust protection. Since I did not want to have a closed environment for printing PLA/PETG, I decided to make all walls easily removable. In addition, I am not printing constantly, so I favored a simple design over something more “user-friendly” (=> no doors).\r\n\r\nFeatures:\r\n• No doors, meaning no magnets, hinges and so on. \r\n• Acrylic sheets can easily be completely removed for optimal ventilation (PLA, PETG) & maintenance\r\n• Acrylic sheets are lockable in an “open” position at the height of the middle brackets using sliders. Depending on the tolerances of your parts, the sheets may already stay in place by friction only. \r\n• Cable routing through the lower brackets in the back\r\n• Easy installation\r\n• Full enclosure for the occasional ABS/ASA print\r\n\r\nRemarks:\r\n• The top of the table and the legs are not flush. Since the sheets are located in front of the legs, there will be a small gap between the upper and middle bracket (see picture). \r\n• There is a small gap (1mm) between the acrylic sheets and the table below the enclosure (see pictures). \r\n• I took all pictures in portrait… that seems to be an issue on Thingiverse. Sorry for the resized/rotated pics.\r\n\r\nBOM: \r\n• 4x Acrylic sheet, t=3mm, x=y=490mm. Cutout (handle) is 150mmx20mm\r\n• 8x Wood Screw (countersunk), M3.5x20 or similar for the middle brackets\r\n• 4x Wood Screw (countersunk), M4.5x40 or similar for the lower brackets\r\n\r\nOther parts I use in my enclosure:\r\n• Cable Clips for LED lights, USB cable\r\n• IKEA365+ Dry Box, see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3892559
