There are two ways to assemble it: connect the table feet directly to each other or use the split version with a tabletop in between. Using shortened feet without a wooden end is also an option, but a small cap can be used for enforcement. To begin, insert an M8 hex nut into the middle hole and secure it with 2 wood screws screwed through the 2 holes into the wooden end of the foot. Next, insert an M8 threaded rod into the nut and push the nut all the way up to eliminate any gaps. Drill a hole through the center of the next part (tabletop or foot) and slide it over the rod. From the top surface, the rod should be about 5mm from the surface so that the top nut can be tightened with moderate pressure. The M8 nut used is available at http://www.schraubenluchs.de/MUTTERN/Huelsenmuttern/Huelsenmuttern-mit-Innensechskant/Huelsenmuttern-Edelstahl/Huelsenmutter-Flachkopf-Edelstahl/1-Stueck-Huelsenmutter-Flachkopf-Edelstahl-M-8::32075.html. It must be M8 to fit with the rod, and it needs a length that provides maximum thread range. To secure the nut, countersink it with a Forstner bit (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forstnerbohrer), matching the diameter of the nut or used washer. Finally, use a hex key to tighten the nut.
