IKEA Lack Cable transit 16mm (Table top penetration)
cults3d
I've mounted my Anet A6 on a Lack table or any other deck around 50mm thick, and wanted to protect my PSU and Raspberry Pi from heat by mounting them externally. To do this, I designed a cable transit that fits through the top of the deck, allowing a USB lead and two pairs of 12 Volt twin cables to pass through. The initial design had a 16mm internal bore, but I found that the back-nut looked a bit scrappy due to the thickness of the threaded wall. To fix this, I reduced the internal bore to 15mm, which helped greatly. However, some USB printer plugs have thicker casings that won't fit through the 15mm tube, so I've uploaded both versions in case you have similar issues. The penetration will accommodate deck thickness from 50mm to around 60mm, leaving about 5mm of thread biting. To make a clean cut in the cardboard, I used a 25mm Forstner bit, which is what Scandinavians call furniture. There's only 2.5mm of bezel to cover any raggedness, so be sure to take your time and cut the hole neatly. I've received requests for different versions of the cable transit, and I'm happy to oblige. Upon request, I've remodelled a set with 35mm flanges to give more tolerance to ragged holes. Recently, I added a 40mm version of the tube to suit IKEA Platsa modular system, which should be useful for those who need it.
