Ikea Lack 3D Printer Enclosure
cults3d
Minimalistic enclosure built with 50cm x 50cm x 2mm hobby glass panes made of polystyrene. The side and back panes simply slide into place. The front pane slides in at the bottom and clicks securely into position at the top. Taping the edges of the panes with electrical PVC tape reduces rattling and stiffens them up a bit. Filament is fed from the bottom through the enclosure. The holder is currently a PVC pipe, but plans are underway to attach it to an 8mm axle with bearings. It works great as is. The roll in the picture is a 40cm x 2kg roll, leaving 5cm of space on top and bottom - perfect. 12cm table feet spacers can be found at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2127786 A filament guide can be downloaded from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3129612 Hobby glass panes, 500x500mm in size and 2mm thick, are available for purchase at: https://www.hornbach.nl/shop/GUTTAGLIss-Hobbyglas-glad-helder-500x500-ca-2mm/1477801/artikel.html?varCat=S9621##v1477798 Magnetic snap fasteners can be found at: https://www.sloterop.nl/hang-en-sluitwerk/meubelbeslag/magneetsnappers/magneetsnappers-kunststof-4-8kg/dx-magneetsnapper-mc-8-4kg-47x16mm-opschroevend-kunststof-metaal-wit-mc-8102b.html
