Ikea Lack 3D Printer Enclosure
thingiverse
Minimalistic enclosure using 50cm x 50cm x 2mm hobby glass (polystyrene) panes. Side and back pane slide right in. Front pane slides into place at the bottom, then snaps securely at the top. Electrical pvc tape is applied to the edges of the panes, reducing rattling and stiffening them up a bit. Filament is fed from below. The holder is currently a simple pvc pipe; plans are underway to mount it on an 8mm axle with bearings. As it stands, it works great. The roll in the photo is a 40cm 2kg roll - there's about 5cm of spare space at the top and bottom. 12cm table feet spacers can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2127786 A filament guide can be accessed via this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3129612 Hobby glass panes are available at this online retailer: https://www.hornbach.nl/shop/GUTTAGLIss-Hobbyglas-glad-helder-500x500-ca-2mm/1477801/artikel.html?varCat=S9621##v1477798 A magnet snepper, similar to the one used, can be found here: https://www.sloterop.nl/hang-en-sluitwerk/meubelbeslag/magneetsnappers/magneetsnappers-kunststof-4-8kg/dx-magneetsnapper-mc-8-4kg-47x16mm-opschroevend-kunststof-metaal-wit-mc-8102b.html
