Ikea Jansjö - alternative wallmount case for clamp led

thingiverse

I use a Jansjö clamp light since several years as a reading light. As the clamp is not big enough to be mounted directly on my bed, I worked around it by screwing a small piece of wood onto the backside of my bed. It worked but it was not elegant and I didn't like the cord switch either. Therefore, I decided to remove the clamp from the lamp itself and the switch. I designed a slim box that can be easily screwed onto the wall or backside of a bed, etc. After printing the two parts of the box (Type A or Type B, depending on whether you want to have the lamp on the right or left of the switch), clip in the switch and cut the wires to the length needed then solder them back together again. This is my first design here, actually the first thing I designed with FreeCad and the first thing I printed on my printer. Any improvements are highly welcome. Happy printing edit: I just noticed that newer Jansjö have small noses on both sides of the switch (see picture), which need to be cut off to fit in the case.
