This is a filter holder designed specifically for the Ikea Jansjo lamp, engineered to transform it into a red light at night, thereby preserving night vision for astronomy. The filter holder consists of two pieces: an inner part that snugly fits onto the lamp and an outer part that secures the filter in place while also tightly fitting onto the inner part. The filter holder relies on press fits to function, which may necessitate some sanding to achieve precise diameters. However, this press fit ensures complete absence of white light leaks. It's worth noting that the filter used is LEE FILTERS 027 MEDIUM RED. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice IIIP Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15 Infill: 20% Notes: The filter holder is printed in PLA, and a quick sanding to remove any high spots yields an ideal press fit. Printing in ABS results in a too-tight fit, but warming the print with a heat gun makes it conform to the lamp. It's highly recommended to print the filter holder in PLA for optimal results.
