The requirement for this project originated from searching for a suitable location to place the filament spool holders behind the printer. The printer is situated in a 50cm deep ivar unit, and I would like to add a small board on one side. This design was created using `openscad`, as I do not have access to 6mm steel rod at home, so I printed the pins instead. However, I have yet to test the entire assembly because I only printed one side thus far. In the `openscad` file, you can select which component to print. When printing the full support structure, I noticed that the slicer (prusaslicer) did not render certain parts correctly, so I used `meshlab` to repair the `STL` file and then it worked as expected. The "basic_rest" module is a test design that can also be useful on its own, as it fits into two holes of the ivar stand and provides support for a light board. I would recommend printing the pins horizontally in order to achieve the strongest pin possible. The print I created was done at 30-40% infill, but I am uncertain if this level of infill is sufficient. However, it appears that it should be able to hold a light board and some filament spools without any issues. ## Customization Options The scad file can be customized for smaller or larger boards, and the documentation is included within the scad file itself. Update: I have added an option to print the design with only one screw in the board, and I have also fixed the holes so that they go right through as intended. Update 30 April 2020: I have improved the interaction with the customizer.
