Ikea IVAR Shelf Bracket/Strut
thingiverse
Ikea's IVAR shelf system can be highly customized, but it may require additional support to maintain stability even with the provided OBSERVATOR cross-brace. To enhance its structural integrity, I designed and added struts that attach directly to the back of the shelf. The four screw holes not countersunk are precisely 5mm in diameter, accommodating a #10 wood screw perfectly, although I plan to utilize #8 cabinet screws for optimal results. The two countersunk screw holes are specifically designed for #8x3/4" screws. A model title including "extra screw" allows for an additional #8 washer head screw to be used if desired, providing flexibility in securing the shelf from a different direction. Upon testing, I found the design to be suitable and stable, with plans to share installation photos once all printing is complete. The F3D file is included for users who wish to create their own version of this custom struts system.
