I built this lift to elevate my IKEA Friheten couch high enough so that my Roomba 960 could clean underneath it without any issues. If you own a robot vacuum, you're well aware of how quickly dirt can accumulate if the vacuum can't reach under it. It's been four years since I created this design, and I recently noticed that the current designs being posted are subpar compared to what I came up with. My lift uses minimal materials while extending the original legs. It was printed using PLA and has held up remarkably well over the years. If you're looking for a more durable option, PETG would be an ideal choice, but PLA works perfectly fine indoors. The design also includes risers that allow the vacuum to clean under the slide-out sleeper section. While there are some barriers along the border of this section that might prevent cleaning in certain areas, the entire underside of the couch should still be accessible for cleaning purposes. To extend the threads on the original legs, I used M8x1.25, 35mm length threaded rod pieces - you can find these on Amazon at B01M9D4CMO. Along with these, I used M8x1.25, 30mm length threaded rod couplings that fit snugly into the hexagonal part in the middle of leg extensions - available at B01IZ16EO6. If either of these links become broken, you should be able to find the necessary parts just about anywhere. The slide-out section extensions use 2.5 inch #10 deck screws. Be sure to pre-drill a 0.150 inch hole before screwing them in, or you might end up with a frustrating experience. These screws can be found at most hardware stores that sell wood screws.
