Ikea Extended Plinth Clip
thingiverse
This is a 45mm extended version of the Ikea plinth clips. The photo shows the original on the left and the new one on the right. You can find the original product on the Ikea website. I needed these to clear some larger bases for my washing machine and fridge. The Ikea system puts the plinth in quite far from the outer edge, which I had to take into account when designing this extended version. The initial print was vertical, but layer adhesion was a major issue, making it weak and prone to failure. To overcome this problem, I decided to print it horizontally with only a few supports in key locations. A crucial point: add a small brim, around 3 outlines deep, to prevent the bottom of the rear plate from slipping away during printing. You can see this in the slicer photos. Alternatively, you could add more supports for a cleaner print, but since these clips are hidden anyway, I wasn't too concerned about aesthetics.
