IKEA EKTORP Replacement Leg

IKEA EKTORP Replacement Leg

Update 2018-12-25: Four months have passed since I printed a new leg for my sofa, and this one is still going strong. I'm adding an update because I completely forgot about printing a replacement for the damaged leg - it's held up that long. By now, I expect it to outlast the sofa itself. My EKTORP sofa suffered a broken leg at the hands of a moving company, but thanks to PETG on hand, I was able to model and print a replacement in no time - far faster than a trip to IKEA or a second-hand parts retailer. And the best part? It only cost me some filament. I highly recommend printing this part at a fairly thick layer height. I used a 0.8mm nozzle to print .4mm layers on this part, and I wouldn't reduce the infill below 80% density - mine was printed solid and has held up fantastically to numerous sofa-flops. In fact, it may even be stronger than the much thinner profile legs that come with the sofa. Let me know in the comments if anyone wants an extended version of this tutorial and how long it should be!
