Ikea Cabinet Enclosure - Sektion

I'm using a readily available Ikea cabinet that's typically placed on a table or mounted on the wall. This sturdy cabinet is much more robust than the Ikea Lack enclosure and easier to modify. Once you have this cabinet, assembling an enclosure for your printer takes about the same time it would take to assemble the cabinet itself. You won't need to worry about whether you've got the right acrylic pieces or printing a dozen parts. Ikea Sektion Cabinet with Doors - https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S09040718/ Measurements: * Width: 30" * Depth: 24 3/4" * Frame, height: 20" As of my last update, this cabinet costs $77 and often goes on sale around major holidays. Everything you need is included in one place. You won't need to print anything except for a way to get filament into the printer, or source acrylic doors. When I made my Ikea Lack enclosure, it cost me $30 for the tables from Ikea, $50 for the acrylic, and $5 for any miscellaneous printed parts. This cabinet could potentially be a better alternative. The cabinet can be mounted vertically, but then you'd need to fabricate your own doors. A horizontal setup is recommended as it will just barely fit a Prusa MK3 printer. Pros: * Everything you need is included in one place * Easier to modify (it's solid MDF, compared to the Lack's hollow MDF) * Easier to maintain 100F/38C temperatures * Has cutouts for cords in the rear Cons: * Requires a bigger space. It's 30" wide and 24" deep. * Needs to be placed on a table Required Modifications: * Filament guide in files section. This is a 200mm wide remix of this filament guide (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2228363) Optional: * Enclosure Fan - You can use any type of fan you might have * I use one from AC Infinity (https://amzn.to/31OyMAP). This fan has many features such as ramping up the fan as it approaches temp and sounding an alarm if it reaches a certain temp. It's also expandable and really well put together. * Charcoal filter for Fan - Get a filter is you're printing ABS to filter out the bad fumes as they get pulled out of the enclosure * Filament holder - I use this Airtight one for $10 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3597020). Or you can just place it on the Tush spool holder (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047554)
