IKEA BRIMNES Dresser Handle
myminifactory
We recently purchased and assembled three IKEA BRIMNES dressers that we really like, except for the handles. So I designed and 3D printed a simple yet clean design replacement handle that can be customized by color. With a little post-processing, it works and looks great. It's easy to grip and open the drawers. Each is printed at a layer height of .24mm with a thickness of 1.5mm and an infill percentage of 25%. I kept using the same G-code with different colors. I'm sure these numbers are arbitrary. I printed mine out of PLA, but ABS, HIPS, PETG, PC, and other materials should work as well - not so much for flexible filaments unless you want to have some fun. Each handle uses almost 4.0m of 2.85mm filament or 10.5m of 1.75mm filament. The translucent colors, such as red and natural/clear, and a few solid colors were coated with XTC-3D epoxy. Pictures of translucent handles don't do the real item justice - they look great, shiny, and see-through with a neat infill pattern showing through. We chose multiple different colors because we couldn't agree on one color, and we think it looks better this way. There are countless variations available - different colors, different infill patterns, translucent, coated, or painted. Painting is also an option, but I recommend adding a layer of clear coat after painting since hands will repeatedly touch the handles. The design is easily transferable to the BRIMNES cabinet door - I just don't have the dimensions. If anyone provides them to me - distance between center of mounting screws in mm - I can easily make a matching handle for the cabinet door. Please share pictures of your prints.
