I wasn't thrilled with the brackets that came with the book case to connect the book cases together at a 45-degree angle. I designed these to be attached to the back of the book cases. I drilled some holes through the shelf, lining them up so they would be hidden once the shelves were in place, and secured using M4 bolts/nuts. They did an excellent job of securing them at the correct angle.
