ikea alex desk leg extension

I recently required my Ikea Alex desk to be elevated to accommodate a new gaming chair. To achieve this, I designed and created an extension that raises the desk approximately 4cm higher with an additional 1cm optional add-on for further customization. This extension effortlessly slides onto the legs of the desk. My primary objectives were to create a strong yet lightweight structure without excessive filament usage. After careful consideration, I decided on printing it using PLA at 40% infill with a temperature setting of 200C and a bed temperature of 50C. The result is a sturdy extension that can support its intended purpose. However, I believe there's room for improvement, so I plan to update the design in due course. If any issues arise, I will address them promptly. A subsequent edit indicates my intention to wait until all four extensions are printed and securely mounted before providing an official assessment of their strength. This ensures that no desks will be compromised by a potential failure. In another edit, I've uploaded a photo showcasing the extension successfully mounted onto a desk leg. While it performs adequately for now, its long-term durability remains uncertain.
