A low-fidelity 3D model of a notable Japanese light carrier Ryujou is shown. The ship, Ryūjō (Japanese: , Prancing Dragon), was a lightly constructed aircraft carrier commissioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the early 1930s to circumvent a naval treaty restriction. Built to be small and minimally outfitted in an attempt to evade regulations, the ship had numerous stability problems shortly after launch due to its design shortcomings. Less than a year later, significant repairs were needed to make Ryūjō seaworthy again. Following successful modifications to enhance her structural integrity, she continued to serve as part of naval operations during World War II in various regions such as the Philippines and Dutch East Indies. Aircraft from this carrier actively took part in significant battles during this time. Please check my project plan on Trello for an updated list of ships I intend to model next, starting with detailed, accurate models rather than simple ones like Ryūjō which is merely a foundational piece built quickly for personal experience and educational purposes, but may lack polish as such.
