The adapter enables the use of 10mm rods with Igus JSM-1012-10 bushings, seamlessly fitting into the space allocated for an LM8LUU bearing. The HyperCube Evolution features a built-in XY Joiner specifically designed for 10mm X rods, but unfortunately, the X carriage can only accommodate LM8LUU bearings. A 10mm version of the X carriage is not officially available. This adapter provides a convenient solution, allowing you to utilize the original HyperCube Evolution X carriage while incorporating carbon fibre or aluminium rod or tube on the X axis. Alternatively, it enables the use of quiet and low-maintenance components instead of noisy metal linear bearings with 10mm steel rods. The OpenSCAD source code is included for easy modification and customization.
