Location: La Matriz Church\nCommunity: Valparaíso\nRegion: Valparaíso\nCountry: Chile\nDate: October 29, 2020\nLa Matriz Church is a Catholic temple located in the historic center of the municipality of Valparaíso, V Region of Valparaíso (Chile). The first inhabitants of the city settled around its original chapel, which was built from straw and mud in 1559. After the attack by pirates and earthquakes that ravaged the bay, in 1842 the fourth version of the temple is inaugurated, and it corresponds to the structure that remains standing to this day.
