The Church of Santa Cristina de Lena is situated isolated on a hill between Campomanes and Pola de Lena (Asturias). Although considered as the last construction of the ramirense period, it's possible that it was built later than the Naranco buildings during King Ordoño I's time, yet everything suggests that it was constructed by the same team. Its reduced size has a rectangular nave measuring 10 meters by 6 meters, with an attached apse on the east side, a porch on the west, and two smaller rooms in the center of the longer sides. A large door is featured in the porch, between two counterforts and finished with a semi-point arch made from irregularly sized stones resting on two interior columns. The exterior appearance is very similar to that of Visigothic cruciform churches, but the presence of counterforts in its sixteen planes gives it an original image.
